Elevator Brake Limit Switch

The travel switch (also known as a limit switch) is an automatic control component triggered by mechanical motion. Its core function is to detect the displacement or stroke of an object to achieve the opening and closing of circuits, the start and stop of equipment, or limit protection. It is an indispensable 'safety sentinel' and 'action commander' in industrial automation and electromechanical equipment.

Some robot vacuum cleaners are equipped with small limit switches on the bottom or sides. When the robot moves to the edge of a staircase, threshold, or other height differences, the switch touches the edge of the step, causing the robot to immediately stop moving forward and turn to prevent a fall. During the cleaning process, if it collides with furniture (such as the legs of a sofa), the switch is triggered, and the robot will also adjust its direction to avoid continuous collisions that could damage either the robot or the furniture.
