A limit switch (also known as a travel switch) is an automatic control component triggered by mechanical motion. Its primary function is to detect the displacement or travel of an object to control the opening and closing of a circuit, the starting and stopping of equipment, or to provide limit protection. It is an indispensable part of industrial automation and electromechanical equipment. The core value of a limit switch lies in its ability to control the circuit through mechanical displacement, and therefore, it is widely used in scenarios that require precise positioning, automatic reversing, or safety protection.

On the lifting path of the hydraulic lifting platform in the factory, the limit switches are set to the 'upper limit' and 'lower limit' positions. When the platform rises to the specified height (such as level with the second floor), the switch is triggered, and the platform stops rising to facilitate goods transfer. If the platform descends too quickly due to hydraulic leakage, the switch at the lower limit position will activate emergency braking to prevent the platform from falling to the ground.
